Eric Bailly is getting better at English slowly and steadily as he says himself.
As per Bailly, he is not uncomfortable even now as some of his Man U colleagues know the French language which he knows as well. So, with the help of those guys, he is able to stay connected with everyone so far.
But, he knows he can’t do without English if he has to be in the Premiership for a long time. So, he has joined a coaching institute as his coach had suggested to him and the lessons in the institute are benefitting him already.
Bailly was quoted as saying, “I can communicate with a couple of boys in French and they are getting me to gel in the squad. I am working on my English as well and in some time hopefully, my English will be good enough for communication.”
“United is like a dream for everyone in Football, for me too. I have felt thoroughly welcomed, so much warmth here.”
“I will grab this opportunity. This is a great opportunity.”
Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs says that the club should get used to do Jose Mourinho adopting a defensive approach in some of the key games.
Manchester United have been criticised for changing their style of play and going all out defensive in the recent match at Anfield. Many saw this as a sign of Mourinho giving too much respect to Liverpool and their recent form. United have a tradition of playing attractive football and very rarely have they performed so poorly in the last three decades. However, Giggs says that Mourinho’s judgements should be trusted
since it may be one of the ways to win trophies.
Even the great Sir Alex Ferguson used defensive tactics from time to time if he thought that it was the best possible way for United to win trophies. Ferguson, however, provided beautiful and attractive football to the club on most occasions and the defensive minded games were largely forgotten. Mourinho is struggling to match the same since he has a reputation for being a defensive coach on almost all occasions. Giggs tried to look on the positive side by claiming that a defeat would have caused a lot of pressure on the team going into the next few weeks.
Manchester United are rationing the shirts of its players this season, according to reports rife in the English media.
The reports say that the rich club moved to ban players from swapping shirts with opponents or gifting it to fans, and others, after a game. The move is reported is one that would save the management cash.
Old Trafford splashed as much as £150 million this summer to land top stars, but they would not be spared from the new regulations. Swede international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, French superstar Paul Pogba, and United and England skipper Wayne Rooney are believed to be suffering a similar fate as the rest of the squad.
The move is a surprising one, if true – as we await official confirmation, because Man United is reported to be worth over £2 billion. Someone in the know told news outlet, The Sun: “They are asked not to swap shirts so they don’t have to be replaced,” he claimed. “It seems daft given how much the club is worth,” he added.
Roy Keane used to perform with Manchester United starting from 1993 until 2005, during this period of time; the Irishman was able to win a multitude of competitions including the Premier League and the Champions League as well as a few other pieces of silverware.
According to Keane, the current squad of Manchester United is nowhere close of winning the Premier League title as the Irishman has recently talked about the current situation of his former club and what he thinks that they need to do in order to start winning competitions on a consistent basis.
“If they are going to recruit again then whatever about good players, what United need is two or three characters so on their bad days they’re able to grind out results. Chelsea will be stronger next year, Arsenal, and Man City too with their new manager. It’s not going to get any easier. I don’t think they have enough characters in that team to get them back into winning league titles.” Roy Keane said as he voiced his thoughts about what Manchester United needs in order to become one of the elite clubs of Europe. Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has revealed the real reason behind leaving the club despite being considered as one of the best strikers during his time at the club.
The Mexican had a very high goals to games ratio. Despite this, he found himself out of favour immediately after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. David Moyes did not rate him much and he was sent on a loan spell to Real Madrid soon afterwards. Even though Moyes was soon replaced by Louis van Gaal, the Dutchman also do not help the situation upon his arrival.
After waiting on the sidelines, Hernandez finally decided to move to German football with Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. He has been an instant hit in German football. Even though the German outfit failed to get past the Champions League group stages, they have done exceedingly well in the league so far. Hernandez has already scored 10 goals in just 13 matches. He has revealed the reasons behind finally moving away from the Old Trafford outfit. Hernandez says that he had an open talk with van Gaal, who failed to guarantee him more than 5% of a starting spot in the team. Continue reading
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville reckons that his former club Manchester United are returning back to their best. Neville was speaking after witnessing his former team get a fourth consecutive league victory. More importantly, this was against their arch rivals Manchester City. United have had a very poor record in the Manchester derby over the last two seasons. After more than four decades, they have been beaten on four consecutive occasions. There was a danger of City getting a fifth consecutive victory over United when Sergio Aguero opened the scoring inside the first 15 minutes.
However, United replied in stunning fashion and managed to win 4-2. The victory could have been even greater had it not been for some outstanding saves by City goalkeeper Joe Hart. This is clearly a United team playing with a lot of confidence and they look like the team under Sir Alex Ferguson. After being criticised heavily for his defensive tactics in the first half of the campaign, Louis van Gaal is starting to make his mark felt in the team. Neville was once critical of Van Gaal’s approach, but the Dutchman has altered the team’s style in such a way that they are now far more attractive. Continue reading
Louis Van Gaal says that he is in the dark over the new injury suffered by record signing Angel di Maria.
The Argentine has been out of action for the last few weeks due to persistent and niggling injury problems. The 26-year-old was a major reason behind United rediscovering their form in the last few months. He has contributed nine goals in just 13 league matches through goals and assists. However, he has played only one match and 29 minutes since the turn of December. Di Maria was once again unavailable for the festive fixture list after suffering a hamstring problem.
The extent to which the new injury will keep him on the sidelines is yet to be revealed, but Van Gaal also admitted that he is in a similar position. Hamstring injuries usually take around three to 4 weeks, but it is thought that United discovered the issue with di Maria a little earlier and may get him back within two weeks. The FA Cup action comes to the Premier league clubs from next week and United will be keen to win this competition after having bowed out of the League Cup very early. United have matches against the likes of Stoke City, Southampton, and Leicester City in the next few weeks.
“He was injured in the last training session, he stepped out of the warm-up. It was a little bit amazing because he did everything very well. He stepped out and now we have to wait and see the analysis. I am not a doctor. Before we have a misunderstanding, we have to wait. No, it’s not the muscle injury. It’s more that the pelvis is not in a right relationship with his leg. It’s more for the doctor to explain than me,” said Van Gaal ahead of the trip to White Hart Lane.
Manchester United’s ever decreasing hopes of clinching a top four spot appear to be all but over after they were easily beaten by Manchester City at Old Trafford yesterday evening.
Title favourites City took the lead inside the first minute, with Edin Dzeko turned the ball in after Samir Nasri’s initial effort came back off the post.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has admitted his frustration at the form of both Liverpool and Manchester City this season, according to the Metro.
The Premier League champions are eleven points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side ahead of their clash on Sunday afternoon, whilst City are nine points ahead of their neighbours with two games in hand and Rooney has said that is it ‘difficult’ to see the two sides doing well at a time when United have stuttered.
