Barca Eye De Gea

Barcelona have placed Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea on a three man shortlist as they search for a replacement for Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the Nou Camp in the summer.

The Mirror report that the 22 year old, Valencia’s Vicente Guaita and Thibaut Courtois, who is currently on loan as Atletico Madrid from Chelsea have been selected by sporting director Andoni Zubizuretta as potential new number ones.

However, following an indifferent start to life at Old Trafford, De Gea has firmly established himself as United’s first choice goalkeeper, meaning it would be highly unlikely for him to be sold on.

Meanwhile, The Metro have reported that winger Nani is set to leave the club after telling friends that he sees his future elsewhere.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that he would prefer to keep the Portuguese international, as negotiations over a new contract seemed to stall.

Elsewhere, Federico Macheda has confirmed that “it would make no sense” to return to Manchester United, once he has completed his loan with German side Stuttgart.

The 21 year old joined United in 2008, but has fell down the pecking order following the emergence of Danny Welbeck, as well as the signing of Robin Van Persie last summer.
