Bayern ‘not interested’ in Rooney

Bayern Munich have reportedly ruled themselves out of the running to sign Wayne Rooney.

The Telegraph claim that Bayern’s director of sport, Matthias Sammer has strongly denied that the German
champions are to make a move for the England international, who has handed in a transfer request at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, incoming manager David Moyes has reportedly agreed to not poach Everton for any of their players when he takes over United on July 1st.

The club have long been linked with both Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, though Sports Direct News claim that a deal has been made that would deny Moyes the opportunity to take any players from Goodison Park.

Elsewhere, the Express have reported that Ryan Giggs is set to be offered a coaching role by David Moyes for next season.

The midfielder, who turns 40 in November, has signed a one year extension to his playing contract but is likely to play fewer games in what will probably be his final season on the pitch.

Finally, Wilfred Zaha, fresh from his two goals that sent Crystal Palace into the Championship play-off final, has been named in Stuart Pearce’s England U21 squad for next month’s European Championships in Israel.
