Manchester United duo Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic have both signed new contacts with the club, the Daily Star understands.
England international Carrick has put pen to paper on a new two year deal which could see him end his career with the current Premier League champions, while club captain Vidic has extended his deal by a further twelve months.
Carrick had been being monitored by English top flight-trio Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle United while Serie A champions Juventus were keeping an eye on Vidic’s situation.
The Serbia international moved to Old Trafford in 2005, and has since gone on to make 276 first team appearances, while Carrick has racked up 333 games despite joining the following summer.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United midfielder is currently side-lined with a calf injury, though Vidic is set to be at the heart of United’s defence for Sunday afternoons trip to Cardiff City after recovering from concussion.
Meanwhile, Wigan Athletic are close to taking Will Keane on loan, according to the Daily Star.
The England U21 international has played just five minutes of first team football for United since turning professional, and is set to link up with Nick Powell, who moved from Old Trafford to the DW Stadium for the season in the summer.
