Ole Gunnar admits that his time has a long way to go up

 

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that his team is behind Liverpool and Manchester City and should put more work on the team of they are planning to defeat them in the next season of Premier League. In the current season, they are fighting for their way into the third position of the points table. They only need one point to secure their place to the Champions League and will be facing Leicester City for their last match in this season.


Earlier in the current season, it seemed like United will not make it to the top four but since January they have been doing great. They have made a comeback in the second half of the seasonand to finish off the season on the third spot is the best outcome they could expect. With their rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City on the lead the celebrations will be quieter.

Jesse Lingard keen on new start with the United

 

Jesse Lingard is looking forward to starting fresh in Manchester United next season. He confessed that he wasn’t feeling himself before the matches were suspended due to coronavirus and when the games are to be resumed he wants to begin anew. He has been criticised multiple times during the stay at United and often his ability to score and assist goals has been questioned.


Lingard has played in 35 games for United and has only scored two goals and a couple of assists and he hasn’t yet scored a goal in Premier League. With his current performance, his playing time is most likely to be decreased. His contract will be expiring in2021 which will also lessen his chance for playing in the first team.

Bruno Fernandes aware that he needs improvements

Bruno Fernande’s has said that he needs to improve himself more as he is playing for the best club in England. Since the transfer to United, he has been contributing well to the club. He was transferred from the Portuguese club Sporting CP in the January transfer window for €55 million and he has been the boost of the club in the past months before the suspension of football activity. He has contributed three goals and four assists to the club in the first nine appearances and he has also inspired and uplifted the spirits of his fellow teammates.


With the midfielder in the pitch, he has helped them to win the matches. They have not yet been defeated in their last 11 games which seems a good sign for the club. Despite his marvelous performance for the club,he has said that he needs to improve in all sorts of the game as he is now playing for United. Premier League will be returning on June 17 and he wants to stay a step ahead of all other clubs.

Manchester United showing a lot of interest in Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani is one of the players that Manchester United is looking forward to sign for this summer transfer window. Cavani’s contract with Paris–Saint-German will be expiring this summer. United has been showing an interest in him for a while.


The Uruguay footballer has been interested in moving to the Spanish League. He was close to being transferred to Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window. But PSG has stopped the transfer and wants to extend the deal with him.

Balague expects Paul Pogba to join Real Madrid

Guillem Balague, a football expert from Spain, is predicting that Paul Pogba is not going to leave Manchester United and join Real Madrid. He is sure that United will bring out a new contract and sign a deal with him.


Pogba has made appearances in only five games this season due to his ankle injury. He has not particularly stated that he wants to leave United but he has kept his options open. The football staff and club members of Red Devils are aware of the potential that Pogba possesses. Even though he is a target for Real Madrid, there is going to be a huge turnover, which makes him not their first priority.

Berbatov says Manchester United’s patience with Solskjaer is working out

Manchester United favourite Dimitar Berbatov believes the Red Devils are reaping rewards after keeping faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their head coach. The Red Devils had a disappointing end to the previous campaign as a five-match winless run, saw them miss out on the Champions League spots.


Despite this, the board decided to keep their faith in their manager and that has worked out this season with the club on course to secure Champions League football. Speaking on Betfair, Berbatov said that United have done impressively to register a Premier League double over arch-rivals Manchester City, considering it was unexpected from them.

Hasselbaink says Manchester United can’t attract top quality players anymore

Former Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Manchester United are no longer able to attract some of the world’s best players. The Red Devils were on the hunt for a new striker with the injury to Marcus Rashford and ultimately, they made the surprise signing of Odion Ighalo on a temporary deal from Shanghai Shenhua before the deadline.


Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Podcast, the former Blues forward branded Ighalo as the luckiest man after making the move back to the Premier League with United after three years in China. He added that the Red Devils have fallen behind the elite teams in England and that includes Chelsea with whom they are competing for the final Champions League spot.

Jesse Lingard admits mentality change against mid-table teams

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has acknowledged that the Red Devils have had a mindset problem when it comes to facing mid-table teams in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants have remained unbeaten against the top-six in the top-flight this term but the same has not been the case with the lower-level sides, where they have dropped costly points.


United started the month of December with splendid wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City but the joy has definitely evaporated with a draw and defeat to Everton and Watford in the next couple of games. As a result, many have questioned their mentality against the smaller teams in the division and Lingard has admitted that the players have a concern which needs to be sorted out.

Manchester United midfielder Fred has talked about his blossoming midfield partnership with Scott McTominay following the club’s victory over Manchester City on the road. McTominay recently returned from an ankle injury and he has impressed alongside Fred as the club have registered deserved wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.


Speaking to The National, Fred was pleased with the glowing partnership between the pair and talked about the importance of winning the Manchester derby over the weekend. He added that the club not only need to perform in the big games and they must show the same level of performance against the mid-table teams hereafter.

Are Man Utd ready for the new Europa League title?

The Red Devils have won the Europa League last time they were in it, back in the 2016/17 campaign. Their first-ever trophy in the second-strongest continental competition was the key for a place in the following term of the Champions League as Manchester United came only sixth at the end of the Premier League season back then.

The team then led by Jose Mourinho saw off Ajax 2-0 in the final in May 2017. Luckily for their fans, the Red Devils can’t be drawn with the Amsterdam giants and the Champions League semi-finalists in the last 32 round having won their respective Europa League group. Continue reading
