Evans: Only Ronaldo and RVP were certain of their place under Sir Alex

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has said that only two players owned their shirts during his time under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, the Mirror understands.

One of those was striker Robin Van Persie and the other Cristiano Ronaldo, with Wayne Rooney a notable omission.

The England international has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with Jose Mourinho convinced that he can lure him to Stamford Bridge.

However, David Moyes has continuously stated that the 27 year old is not for sale, and he is likely to play in the pre-season friendly against Swedish side AIK a week on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Cesc Fabregas has told friends that he wants to move to Old Trafford, according the Mail Online.

The former Arsenal captain has been the subject of a fierce battle between United and Barcelona, with the Premier League champions seeing a bid in excess of £30m turned down by the Catalan club.

Finally, the club drew 2-2 earlier today (Friday) in their pre-season friendly against Cerezo Osaka.

United trailed twice, but goals from Shinji Kagawa against the club where he began his career, and one in stoppage time from Wilfred Zaha gave them a share of the spoils.
