Ferdinand to only major doubt for Sunderland trip

David Moyes has almost a fully fit squad to choose from for tomorrow’s trip to bottom of the table Sunderland.

The Champions only real injury concern is over centre-back Rio Ferdinand, who picked up a groin injury in last weekend’s defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

There is a slight doubt over Tom Cleverley’s availability, while Anderson, Fabio and Wilfried Zaha are all in contention having missed the trip to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, winger Zaha will be allowed to leave the club on loan in January, according to the Metro.

Championship side Nottingham Forest had an approach for the 20 year old turned down earlier this week, though a number of top flight clubs are set to join the race for his services when the transfer window reopens.

Swansea City, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United and his former club Crystal Palace are all said to be interested in taking the England international until the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Atletico Bilbao president Josu Urrutia has said that he believes the subject of Ander Herrera and his proposed move to United is now closed, according to Sky Sports.

It is thought that United were set to make a fresh bid for the midfielder in January, though Urrutia is keen to keep him at his club.
