Ferguson set for swansong

Champions Manchester United end a victorious season against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthowns on Sunday afternoon, in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final match in charge of the Red Devils.

Phil Jones and Jonny Evans are set to start for United, while Anders Lindegaard is set to get the nod in goal ahead of David De Gea.

Rafael will miss the game through suspension, while Wayne Rooney may not be included amid continued speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Arsenal are the latest side to be linked with a potential move for the striker, who last week handed in a transfer request that has since been rejected by the club.

Meanwhile, Rooney could be handed the captains armband for England ahead of the forthcoming friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.

The 27 year old has been called up for the internationals along with Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck.
