Inter confirm Vidic deal

Inter Milan have confirmed that they are to sign Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United at the end of the season, according to the Mail Online.

The Serie A giants have been favourites to secure the services of the Serbian, who announced last month that he would be leaving Old Trafford in the summer after eight years in Manchester.

During his time with the club, the 32 year old won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, the Champions League and FIFA World Club Cup, while individually; he was twice named the Premier League Player of the Season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are among three clubs linked with a shock move for Robin van Persie, the Mirror understands.

The Dutch international, who played in the Netherlands’ 2-0 defeat to France yesterday evening, is reportedly unhappy at Old Trafford, despite arriving at the club just over eighteen months ago.

David Moyes could be tempted to cash in on the striker, with Juventus and Monaco also said to be monitoring the situation.

Elsewhere, TalkSport understand that United are battling with Tottenham Hotspur to secure the services of Parma defender Gabriel Paletta, who briefly played for Liverpool under Rafael Benitez during the 2007/08 campaign.
