Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski has been told to make a decision on his future by May, or face finishing his contract at Borussia Dortmund.
The Polish international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League leaders, though Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also reportedly keen on the player, who has 20 goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances this term.
Dortmund certainly seem reluctant to lose their star striker, who was unable to help the German champions gain an advantage in their Champions League Quarter Final tie in Malaga last night.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint Germain has urged Wayne Rooney to join the Ligue 1 leaders, should he leave Old Trafford in the summer.
Rooney’s future at Old Trafford had been the subject of speculation after being left out if United’s starting line-up for their Champions League last sixteen tie with Real Madrid last month, though Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that the England striker is going nowhere.
Meanwhile, the club have been boosted by the return to fitness of Rooney, and defender Rafael who has been passed fit for Monday’s Manchester derby.
United will go eighteen points clear at the top of the league if they beat second place Manchester City, with just twenty-one left to play for.
