Lewandowski likely to stay with Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have told Manchester United that they will not be able to sign Robert Lewandowski this summer, according to The Independent.

The Bundesliga runners-up had already insisted that the Poland international would not be sold to rivals Bayern Munich, leaving the door open for a potential move from one of the players Premier League suitors.

However, it appears that Dortmund have told Lewandowski he will need to see out the remainder of his contract with the club, which expires in twelve months.

Meanwhile, TalkSport understand that United have reached a gentleman’s agreement with Benfica to sign centre-back Ezequiel Garay this summer.

The 26 year old has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, though Real Madrid reportedly entered the race to resign the player they sold two years ago.

However, reports in Portugal have revealed that United have moved ahead of Madrid, and are closing in on the Argentina international.

Finally, West Ham United are preparing a loan move for Wilfred Zaha, according to the Mirror.

The Hammers are keen to strengthen their attacking options for the forthcoming season, with moves for Chelsea duo Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku mooted, as well as the expected signing of Andy Carroll from Liverpool.

Zaha signed for United back in January, but returned to Crystal Palace on loan for their end of season push, which saw them secure promotion back to the Premier League.
