Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has refused to rule out a move to Manchester United amid reports linking him to the Premier League champions, the Metro understands.
The Italy international has been earmarked by David Moyes as an alternative option to first-choice transfer target Cesc Fabregas, should a move for the former Arsenal captain fail to materialise.
The 27 year old has three years remaining on his contract with the Serie A champions, and has stated that he is happy with life in Turin, though the pull of Manchester United may prove too strong.
Meanwhile, United’s hopes of signing Luka Modric have been dealt a blow after Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the midfielder will be remaining at the Bernabeu.
The 27 year old, who only moved to Spain last summer, made thirty-three appearances in La Liga last season, and scored an incredible equaliser for Real in the Champions League last sixteen second leg victory at Old Trafford.
Arsenal had reportedly entered the race to sign the Croatia international, with his former club Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly interested in involving him in a swap deal that would see Gareth Bale move in the opposite direction, though his new manager has reiterated his importance to the Spanish club.
