Martinez insists that he won’t sell Barkley

Roberto Martinez has insisted that will not sell Ross Barkley in January amid links with a move to Manchester United, the Mirror understands.

The Everton manager says that even a bid that would rival what Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale last summer would not help change his mind.

Barkley, who was handed his professional debut by David Moyes at Everton in 2011, has emerged as one of the hottest talents in the English game and there is talk that he could make the cut for England’s World Cup squad next summer.

His winning goal for the Toffee’s against Swansea City on Sunday was his third goal of the season, and moved his side to within two points of leaders Liverpool.

Meanwhile, David Moyes is set to recall a number of the United players who are currently out on loan, according to Sky Sports.

Nick Powell, who has impressed with Wigan Athletic, Jesse Lingard, who is at Birmingham City and Ryan TunniIpcliffe, currently of Ipswich Town could all return to the club in the New Year as United look to continue their Premier League resurgence.

The club are currently eight points behind leaders Arsenal ahead on games against Hull City, Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur in the next eight days.
