Moyes set for Rooney talks

David Moyes will meet Wayne Rooney this week to discuss the player’s future amid continued speculation that the 27 year old is set to leave the club, the Mirror understands.

The Premier League champions have already rejected one approach from Arsenal, and Moyes is confident that he can retain Rooney’s services for the forthcoming season.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the England international, with the Telegraph reporting that they are readying a £20million bid.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star have reported that the club will renew their interest for Stevan Jovetic after Fiorentina revealed that they are willing to listen to offers for their star man.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Monetenegro international whose preferred choice was said to be Juventus, however following Carlos Tevez’s arrival in Turin, the Old Lady are unlikely to make a move.

Juve have also signed Spain international Fernando Llorente as they look to once again retain the Serie A championship.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star also claims that David Moyes is set to make an improved bid for Everton left back Leighton Baines.

United were rebuffed in their initial approach last week, with their £12million bid for the England defender rejected out of hand.
