Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale, not even for one billion euros.
The 28 year old has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer, with a return to Old Trafford being mooted.
However, Perez is desperate to keep old of the forward, who has scored 146 goals in just 135 La Liga appearances.
He told Spanish newspaper Marca:
“I will do everything in my power to renew the contract. He has two years left on his contract, he is the best in the world and we would like to give a boost to the team with him as a leader and an emblem”.
Meanwhile, Marouane Fellaini has said that his “destiny is with Everton” amid reports that he is set to join up with former manager David Moyes at Old Trafford.
The Belgian international, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea has insisted that he wants to remain a Goodison Park, meaning United may have to look elsewhere as they attempt to rebuild their midfield for next season.
Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara appear to be the names at the top of David Moyes’ list of targets, whilst Ajax’s Christan Eriksen and Ilkay Gundogan have also been mentioned.
