Wayne Rooney will be targeted by Paris Saint Germain should they lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to the Mirror.
The paper reports that the Swedish international is unhappy with life in France, and could well be reunited with former boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, who have been linked with a £20 million move for the player.
That would leave a space which the Ligue 1 leaders would be keen to fill with Rooney, whose future at Old Trafford has been somewhat uncertain of late, though Sir Alex Ferguson’s has insisted that there is no problem regarding the England international.
Elsewhere, Talksport report that sources in Spain claim that Atletico Madrid are lining up a summer move for Javier Hernandez.
Radamel Falcao is expected to leave the Calderon at the end of the season with a host of European clubs in a tussle for his services, and the United striker is believed to be the preferred choice to replace him.
Hernandez has made just six league starts this season, but has chipped in with 16 goals in all competitions.
Finally, Roy Hodgson will later today announce his squad for England’s forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro, with a recall for Rio Ferdinand possibly on the cards.
Ferdinand hasn’t played for his country since the 2-2 draw with Switzerland in June 2011.
