Sir Alex Ferguson’s final match in charge of Manchester United proved to be a memorable one, as the Champions twice squandered a three goal lead to eventually draw 5-5 with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
Shinji Kagawa, and own goal from Jonas Olsson and Alexander Buttner gave United a three-nil lead inside half an hour, though James Morrison pulled one back for the hosts five minutes before half time.
Manchester United were beaten by Chelsea for the second time in just over a month after Juan Mata’s late deflected goal secured all three points for Rafael Benitez’s side.
The Champions also lost defender Rafael with less than a minute of regular time to play after he kicked out at compatriot David Luiz, whose reaction left manager Sir Alex Ferguson less than pleased:
A number of players are reportedly on their way out of Old Trafford, with as many as seven named by various mediums.
In midfield, the Daily Mail list Anderson, Nani and Paul Scholes as those likely to be nearing the end of their time at Manchester United, with the Manchester Evening News adding Darren Fletcher to that list.
