Mourinho questions the attitude of his players

Jose Mourinho once again was not happy with the attitude of the players of Manchester United after the Red Devils could only secure one point from their visit to Southampton yesterday.

This was one away game where United were the strong favorites and should have won by opinion of premier league experts, not only because they had the stronger team on paper, but also because Southampton’s form in the Premiership has been terrible in the on-going season and they have remained in the relegation zone right from the start of the season.  Continue reading

Martial hoping to build on strong start with Manchester United

French forward Anthony Martial is looking to add more goals to his tally for Manchester United between now and the end of the season. The 21-year-old has been in tremendous form for the Red Devils in the early part of the campaign, producing key goals including the winner against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Martial has already racked seven goals in the United shirt across all competitions, and he is just one short of achieving last season’s tally under Jose Mourinho. Despite this, the Frenchman wants to take his game to another level as he aims to make a greater impact with the Europa League holders.

Mourinho rubbishes Manchester United exit talk

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly responded to suggestions that he could leave the Red Devils in the near future. In a recent interview with Portuguese Television, the tactician admitted that he won’t finish his career at Old Trafford, although he is no hurry to leave the club.

Since then, the Special One has been linked with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, amongst others, though he has been linked with them before. The 54-year-old has stressed that he has only United on his mind, he said, “I think you English media have the answer for that because, in one day, it says that I am going to sign a five-year contract, for £1billion per season and then, the next day, you say that I am leaving and going to PSG. I think that is the answer. The answer is that nothing is happening. I am not signing a new five-year contract and I am not leaving for PSG. I am at Manchester United and I have a contract. And that is it.” Continue reading

Should Jose Mourinho Go if Manchester United Fail in Top-Four Bid?

When Jose Mourinho was appointed as Manchester United manager in the summer, there was a sense of optimism around Old Trafford. Under the departing Louis van Gaal, United had failed to finish in the top four of the Premier League and were playing pretty dull football.

Mourinho was supposed to bring back the winning mentality that the Red Devils had lost under Van Gaal. The Portuguese may have left Chelsea under a cloud, but given his pedigree and managerial record, United fans were brimming with optimism. Well, most of them anyway.

United were expected to be challenging for the Premier League title, but as things stand, they may not even finish in the top four. Chelsea are the frontrunners for the title, and it is hard to see any team catching the London club. With Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City also aiming for the Champions League places, Mourinho’s team are in for a hard run. Continue reading
