United confident on Lewandowski and Fabregas

Manchester United are confident of securing the signings of Robert Lewandowski and Cesc Fabregas, the Daily Mail understands.

Lewandowski had looked likely to join European Champions Bayern Munich, though Dortmund yesterday revealed that the Poland international will definitely not be sold to their Bundesliga rivals, giving a green light to United.

However, Fabregas has played down talk of a return to the Premier League, insisting that he is determined for success at the Nou Camp.

The Barcelona midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to back to England, with Champions Manchester United seemingly favourites to land the player.

Arsenal are also thought to have entered the race as they have first refusal on the Spanish international, who clinched his first La Liga title last season.

Meanwhile, the club have also been linked with a move for Southampton’s promising left-back Luke Shaw.

The 17 year old, who is also reportedly a target for Chelsea, broke into the Saints first team last season but is yet to sign a professional contract at St. Mary’s, according to the Mail Online.

The link comes with number one defensive target Legihton Baines looking increasingly likely to remain with David Moyes former club Everton.
