United frustrated again following late Saints equaliser

A late equaliser from Adam Lallana denied Manchester United all three points at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, as the champions drew 1-1 with in form Southampton.

Robin Van Persie put the hosts ahead on twenty-six minutes, only for Lallana to steal in and give his side a share of the spoils a minute from time.

United are now in eighth place, eight points behind leaders Arsenal ahead of next Saturday’s home match against Stoke City.

The club will first turn their attention to Wednesday evening’s visit of Real Sociedad in the Champions League, where David Moyes’ men will be hoping to tighten their grip on top spot in Group A.

Ahead of the Southampton clash, it was revealed that Adnan Januzaj had ended uncertainty surrounding his future by putting pen to paper on a lucrative new contract with the club.

Manchester City had been linked with a move for the eighteen year old, who’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season.

Januzaj burst on to the Premier League scene a fortnight ago, scoring twice at the Stadium of Light to secure a come-from-behind win over Sunderland, before being largely involved in Robin van Perise’s opener at the weekend.
