United look to bounce back against Swans

Manchester United will look to bounce back from their New Year’s Day disappointment as they take on Swansea City at Old Trafford in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Premier League champions lost to Tottenham Hotspur to end a six game winning streak, and will be keen to progress as David Moyes looks to clinch major silverware in his first season as manager of the club.

The hosts are without a number of first team players for the match, with defenders Phil Jones and Rafael, midfielders Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini and Nani and forward Robin van Persie all side-lined.

United ran out 4-1 winners when the sides met in Moyes’ first league match on the opening day of the season with both Van Persie and Danny Welbeck scoring twice.

Meanwhile, Turkish giants Galatasaray have been linked with a move for Alex Buttner, according to the Mirror.

The left-back has made just two league appearances this season, and has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Elsewhere, Michael Keane and Ryan Tunnicliffe have extended their loan spells with Derby County and Ipswich Town respectively, according to the Daily Star.

However, a host of other United players, such as Jesse Lingard, Federico Macheda and Keane’s twin brother Will have all returned to the club.
