The sides met no less than five times last season, with United’s only win coming in the at Stamford Bridge fixture last October, while the clash at Old Trafford back in May finished 1-0 to the Blues.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have said that they will sell midfielder Mezut Ozil to Manchester United , according to the Mail Online.

David Moyes, who is also trying to bring in Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines from former club Everton, is hopeful of making a marquee signing before the transfer window closes next Monday.

Ozil is set to become surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu once the Spanish giants complete the signing of Gareth Bale, though Sky Sports understand that Tottenham Hotspur are considering offers from other clubs for the Wales international.

United have previously been credited with an interest in Bale, but it is yet to be revealed if it is they who have made an offer for the 24 year old.
