Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make changes to his starting line-up for this evening’s FA Cup fifth round tie with Reading at Old Trafford.
Paul Scholes remains side-lined through injury, though Javier Hernanadez, Nani and Ashley Young could all feature after sitting out of last Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.
The game will evoke memories of December’s seven goal thriller at Madejski Stadium, where United ran out 4-3 winners with all goals being scored in the opening 34 minutes.
The Red Devil’s will be confident of progressing to the next round, having lost just one all Premier League tie in front of their own fans in the past nine years.
That defeat came at the hands of Portsmouth, on the way to lifting the trophy back in 2008.
The winners of tonight’s game will face either Middlesbrough or Chelsea in the quarter finals on the weekend of March 9th and 10th.
Meanwhile, ahead of the match Reading manager Brian McDermott has spoken of his admiration for United legend Ryan Giggs.
McDermott told The Mirror that the he believes the Welshman “has all the ingredients to be a top manager” having met him on a coaching course at Burton.
