Van Persie and Rooney likely to sit out of Norwich clash

Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to rest both Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney for this evening’s Capital One Cup fourth round tie with Norwich City.

Javier Hernandez is set to lead the line following his match winner against Stoke City at the weekend, while a whole host of fringe players are also likely to be given a run out.

Wilfred Zaha is set to make his first appearance for United since the Community Shield victory over Wigan Athletic, while Alex Buttner is set to make only his third start of the season.

United beat Liverpool in the last stage of the competition, and are looking to make it to the fifth round with what would be their fifth straight home win against the Canaries.

Meanwhile, Brazilian midfielder Anderson has been told that he can leave the club, according to the Daily Star.

The 25 year old has made just a handful of appearances since David Moyes arrived at the club, and has started no more than eighteen league matches in a league season since his first in English football.

Andreson moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2007 when he signed from Porto.
