Vidal Linked With Man United

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has intensified as rumours linking him with Manchester United by admitting that he would like to play for the Premier League giants. United are set to undergo a massive spending spree in order to overhaul the squad, which finished in a disappointing seventh place last season. The overhauling is interested in the hands of Louis van Gaal – one of the top managers involved football. Vidal has been placed as one of the transfer targets for United.

The Juventus midfielder has established a reputation for being one of the best in the last few seasons. Last season, he scored 11 goals in just over 30 league appearances. This helped Juventus claim a third straight league title. Vidal was also crucial towards Chile almost reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup 2014. They came close to beating Brazil in the last 16 stage. Vidal has been consistently linked with Real Madrid in the last few months, but United have now entered into the frame. Van Gaal is reportedly keen on a competitive midfielder who has the ability to go forward as well.

Vidal perfectly fits into this philosophy and he could finally be the player to replace Roy Keane – a player United have never managed to replace in the last decade. Vidal’s latest statements about playing for United will concern Juventus. “I’ve heard about the rumours, but I haven’t spoken more about this subject. I’m enjoying my holidays, and when I return to Italy I’ll see what happens. I’m very calm, but anyone would love to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said the midfielder.

If United are looking to sign Vidal, then they will have to part with at least £35 million in transfer fees for the 27-year-old. Vidal joined Juventus in 2011 from Bayer Leverkusen.
